Bears by Robert Hayes, Cherokee carver

Robert learned from his father, Tom. The family lived near Zuni for approximately 17 years. Tom learned carving from a local Zuni fetish carver, and Robert followed in his father's footsteps. These bears are large, powerful, and beautifully styled and executed. The materials used are exquisite. This is one of the finest collections we have seen. Art Legends acquired this collection on a recent trip to New Mexico. We believe that this is the first time Robert's work has been offered on the Internet.
