Zuni Pueblo is located in the western
region of New Mexico, close to the Arizona border, about 35 miles
south of Gallup. The Zuni potters like water symbols, hunting
symbols and applique. They make fine quality, thin-walled pottery
by hand in the traditional manner, from coiling through polishing.
Many of the Zuni potters have begun to use electric kilns instead
of outdoor firing. We feature the work of Zuni's finest potters
including Noreen Simplicio and members of the Peynetsa family.
