Jemez Pueblo, located northwest of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the home of several families of fine potters. Juanita Fragua, Geraldine Sandia, the Loretto family, the Yepa's, Romero's and Toya's are all known for their quality pottery work. They are excellent ambassador's in the world of pottery. Jemez potters are known for their variety of styles. They experiment with different slips to paint their pottery, as well as different clays. Jemez pottery is an important component of any serious pottery collection.
