Candelaria Suazo works in the finely carved sgraffito tradition employing double firing to change the color of the pot. She works at Santa Clara and in that tradition, but is a married-in potter from the San Juan Pueblo. This two-toned lidded pot has a rabbit, a quail, and Kokopelli entwined with Avanyu, the water serpent. Candelaria has also included feather and kiva step designs. The carving is very fine and the stone-polished finish is exquisite. The lid has a feather and kiva step design on the top of it.
