Sons of the Sky Baby Blanket

This blanket is inspired by a Plains Indian tradition. New parents place their child's remaining navel cord inside an amulet shaped like a turtle or a sand lizard. The amulets imitate the turtle's hard shell and the sand lizard's quick movements that will guard the spirit of the child and ensure a long, protected life.

Royalties from the sale of American Indian College Fund blankets go directly to provide scholarships for more than 5,000 tribal students yearly.
